This is a recipe I came up with while trying to come up with a tastier version of a sloppy joe. My kids love them but I just don't like the Manwich you buy that much. This is excellent. I've even used this as chili for hot dogs and for chili burgers. Hope you enjoy.

1 Tbsp
extra virgin olive oil
1 1/4 lb
ground beef
1/4 c
light brown sugar
1 Tbsp
mccormick montreal steak seasoning
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 small
red bell pepper, chopped
1 Tbsp
red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 jar(s)
tomato and basil pasta sauce (i use classico)
2 Tbsp
tomato paste

How to Make Awesome Sloppy Joes


  • 1Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil and meat to the the pan. Spread meat around to break it up.
  • 2Combine the brown sugar and steak seasoning in a small bowl and then add the sugar and spice mixture to the pan and combine with meat.
  • 3When the meat has browned, add the chopped onion and red peppers to the pan. Reduce heat to medium and add the red wine vinegar and worcestershire sauce.
  • 4Cook for 5 minutes then add the pasta sauce and tomato paste to the pan. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to simmer and cook mixture 5-10 minutes longer. Serve on toasted buns and enjoy. :)
