One of my favorites! It's simple, cheap, and good. I serve with mashed potatoes and a steamed veg. In a pinch I've also used Cream of Mushroom soup.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 - envelope onion soup mix
- 1/4 cup italian bread crumbs
- 1 - egg
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef stock
- 4 tablespoons heinz 57 (or substitute ketchup)
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 10 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup sour cream
How To Make aurora's salisbury steak

Step 1In a medium bowl mix together ground beef, onion soup mix, egg, bread crumbs, and garlic. Shape mixture into 6 patties.

Step 2In a skillet brown patties over medium heat, just until juices run clear. Remove to plate.

Step 3Saute mushrooms in pan. After they are browned add beef stock, Heinz 57, and Worcestershire. Stirring often, simmer until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Add patties back into pan to reheat in sauce. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
