My mom made this for as long as I can remember. I have updated it over the years, we had a family of 7 plus anyone of our friends who happened to be there at the time ...so my mother use to make lots of this..We use to eat it for breakfast the next day...if there was any left...lol.. so here goes

Ingredients For american chop suey

  • 2Lbs
    good quality ground beef
  • 2Lbs
    pasta of choice.but i would'nt use long pastas. something that's going to catch the sauce
  • 2Lbs
    fresn ripe tomatoes.. your favorite kind..canned whole tomatoes when fresh is not avalible
  • 2 lg.onion
    sweet onions are the best.
  • fresh garlic 2 large cloves salt pepper parm cheese one small diced hot peppers(don't put in if you don't care for spice

How To Make american chop suey

    cook pasta as directed..I like mine slightly under done. salted water.when done drain really well. put aside.In a large skillet put 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons butter. saute onion untill soft add salt pepper than add garlic and pepper, cook untill soft don't burn your garlic.in another skillet cook beef with salt and pepper. cook thur .drain every bit of grease from hamburger. put back on heat add diced tomatos or canned..if its canned drain most of the liquid from tomatos.when heated.in large pan combine pasta beef and tomatoes oil butter onins garlic mix well add plenty of grated cheese. serve..if you would like you can put in a casserole dish ,greased sprinkle with grated cheese and any kind od shredded cheese you like.cover loosely bake 30 mins or untill bubbley last 5 mintues uncover serve... writing my first receipe wasn't as easy as it looks... hope yp\ou all understand my directions..I hope I will get better at it.. this really is a good receipe..
