These were a favorite when I was growing up in the home of my adopted parents. My mom had no recipe, just threw it all together and out came the best sloppy joes ever.

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato soup
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 small
    onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    dried mustard
  • 1/8- 1/4 c
    white vinegar
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Adoption Sloppy Joes


  1. brown your meat and drain.
  2. Add all other ingredients
  3. Cover and simmer for about 20 mintes so flavors can meld. Tastes even better the second day when reheated.
  4. Pile onto hamburger buns and enjoy a sloppy treat!
