My husband and kids love this one. And its pretty easy to make!

3 lb
ground beef or turkey meat
1 bottle
a1 steak sauce (the big bottle)
1/2 pkg
frozen pearl onions (bag)
2 - 3 lb
potatoes, mashed
2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded
2 - 3 can(s)
whole kernal corn
1 pkg
beef or brown gravy mix (powder)
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp
margarine or butter
2 Tbsp

How to Make A1 Shepherds pie


  • 1In a medium pot, cook frozen pearl onions in oil and butter (or margarine) until soft and slightly carmelized.
  • 2Brown ground beef or turkey in a large frying pan until no longer pink - drain and return to pan.
  • 3Prepare mashed potatoes how you normally would (i use butter and milk, or you can use the premade kind if you want to save time) add the cheese, salt & pepper and set aside to let cheese melt
  • 4Add A1, onions, corn and gravy mix to meat mixture- stir to combine.
  • 5Transfer meat mixture into a 9x13 backing pan (a deep one works well) then cover with mashed potatoes mixture.
  • 6Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour (top will start to turn golden brown)
