My husband and kids love this one. And its pretty easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef or turkey meat
  • 1 bottle a1 steak sauce (the big bottle)
  • 1/2 package frozen pearl onions (bag)
  • 2 - 3 pounds potatoes, mashed
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 - 3 cans whole kernal corn
  • 1 package beef or brown gravy mix (powder)
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil

How To Make a1 shepherds pie

  • Step 1
    In a medium pot, cook frozen pearl onions in oil and butter (or margarine) until soft and slightly carmelized.
  • Step 2
    Brown ground beef or turkey in a large frying pan until no longer pink - drain and return to pan.
  • Step 3
    Prepare mashed potatoes how you normally would (i use butter and milk, or you can use the premade kind if you want to save time) add the cheese, salt & pepper and set aside to let cheese melt
  • Step 4
    Add A1, onions, corn and gravy mix to meat mixture- stir to combine.
  • Step 5
    Transfer meat mixture into a 9x13 backing pan (a deep one works well) then cover with mashed potatoes mixture.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour (top will start to turn golden brown)
