steak or chicken teriyaki

This is wonderful on the barbecue. I like to put the lid on and smoke it a little.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 small garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce. i use low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger or !/2 teas. ground ginger
  • 2 - top round beef steak 1 inch thick. approx 1 and 1/2 lb each
  • - or use 3 lbs chicken leg quarters. add 2 more table spoons brown sugar to marinade.

How To Make steak or chicken teriyaki

  • Step 1
    in an 8X12 in dish.( I use a roasting bag to marinate meat) Mix first 8 ingredients.
  • Step 2
    Place meat in dish turn to coat all sides. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hrs. Turning occasionally.
  • Step 3
    Preheat broiler place meat on broiling pan Broil 10- 15 mins each side for rare or broil to taste, Broil chicken 20 mins each side.
  • Step 4
    Or take it outside and barbecue it.
