steak or chicken teriyaki

This is wonderful on the barbecue. I like to put the lid on and smoke it a little.

Ingredients
- 1 medium onion sliced
- 1 small garlic clove minced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce. i use low sodium
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger or !/2 teas. ground ginger
- 2 - top round beef steak 1 inch thick. approx 1 and 1/2 lb each
- - or use 3 lbs chicken leg quarters. add 2 more table spoons brown sugar to marinade.
How To Make steak or chicken teriyaki

Step 1in an 8X12 in dish.( I use a roasting bag to marinate meat) Mix first 8 ingredients.

Step 2Place meat in dish turn to coat all sides. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hrs. Turning occasionally.

Step 3Preheat broiler place meat on broiling pan Broil 10- 15 mins each side for rare or broil to taste, Broil chicken 20 mins each side.

Step 4Or take it outside and barbecue it.
