This is wonderful on the barbecue. I like to put the lid on and smoke it a little.

  • 1 medium
    onion sliced
  • 1 small
    garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce. i use low sodium
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    minced ginger or !/2 teas. ground ginger
  • 2
    top round beef steak 1 inch thick. approx 1 and 1/2 lb each
  • ·
    or use 3 lbs chicken leg quarters. add 2 more table spoons brown sugar to marinade.

How to Make Steak or Chicken Teriyaki


  1. in an 8X12 in dish.( I use a roasting bag to marinate meat) Mix first 8 ingredients.
  2. Place meat in dish turn to coat all sides.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hrs. Turning occasionally.
  3. Preheat broiler place meat on broiling pan
    Broil 10- 15 mins each side for rare or broil to taste, Broil chicken 20 mins each side.
  4. Or take it outside and barbecue it.
