we love this. I make the sauce and freeze it for an easy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 16 oz. chunk pineapple in juice
  • 1 1/2 - sweet onion, quartered
  • 1 - each red and green pepper, cubed
  • 4 tablespoons quick tapioca
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chicken boullion granules
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons fresh gtated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons dried cilantro
  • 3 - chicken beasts, boneless, skinless cubed
  • 3 - egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make oriental sweet and sour chicken (or pork)

  • Step 1
    Saute first 3 ingredients in medium saucepan on low heat until tender, ( drain pineapple and save juice)
  • Step 2
    add next sauce ingredients, the tapioca down the list including the pineapple juiuice you saved down thru the cilantro. cook until thick. keep warm
  • Step 3
    combine egg yolks, corn starch salt and pepper,and water, dip chicken or pork pieces in it and fry in vegetable oil 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    serve meat and sauce over hot steamed rice.
