We enjoyed this dish so much at the military bases when we were stationed in Hawaii and after retiring there. When I found this recipe I was thrilled.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    wine or water
  • 1/2 tsp
    hot red pepper flakes (more or less to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp
    green onions, chopped
  • 2 tsp
    ginger
  • 2 clove
    garlic, mashed
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 dash(es)
    black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • dash
    black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    sesame seed oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 lb
    sirloin steak or other steak, cut in very thin slices (cutting while slightly frozen is easier)

How to Make Mongolian Barbeque

Step-by-Step

  1. Add any of the following ingredients, increasing seasoning and oil to taste: sliced onions, sliced green or red pepper, sliced water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, sliced mushrooms, shredded carrots, chucks of pineapple.
  2. Grill on a very hot griddle, frying pan or wok until done as desired.
  3. Serve over cooked rice.
