Ingredients For chow mein my mom's way

1/4 cbutter
-
2 ccooked pork, beef, turkey or chicken

1 mdonion, chopped

2 cdiced celery
-
1 1/2 chot water
-
1 canbean sprouts, drained or

1 canmixed chinese vegetables, drained

1 tspsalt
-
***thickening & flavoring
-
2 Tbspcold water
-
1 Tbspsoy sauce
-
2 Tbspcornstarch
-
1 Tbspsugar
How To Make chow mein my mom's way

1Melt butter in skillet. Add onions and cook 3 minutes. Add celery, salt, pepper and hot water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add bean sprouts or mixed Chinese vegetables and meat. Mix thoroughly and cook 5 minutes. Combine thickening and flavoring ingredients; add to meat mixture, stir, cook 1 minute.

2Serve hot over cooked rice and/or with chow mien noodles.
