This is a very easy and quick dish to serve with asian or oriental meals. I like it along side fried rice and sweet and sour pork or chicken.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups celery, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces water chestnuts, drained
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 2 tablespoons slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

How To Make chinese celery

  • Step 1
    In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Step 2
    Add everything except water and cornstarch.
  • Step 3
    Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl, combine the water and cornstarch and stir until smooth. Add to skillet of vegetables and cook another 5 minutes or until celery is crisp-tender and sauce has thickened.
