This is a very easy and quick dish to serve with asian or oriental meals. I like it along side fried rice and sweet and sour pork or chicken.

butter, melted

celery, sliced
1 medium
onion, chopped
8 oz
water chestnuts, drained
4 oz
sliced mushrooms, drained
2 Tbsp
slivered almonds
2 Tbsp
soy sauce
2 Tbsp
oyster sauce
1/4 tsp
black pepper
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/2 c
1 Tbsp

How to Make Chinese Celery


  • 1In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • 2Add everything except water and cornstarch.
  • 3Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 4In a small bowl, combine the water and cornstarch and stir until smooth. Add to skillet of vegetables and cook another 5 minutes or until celery is crisp-tender and sauce has thickened.
