Ingredients
- 1 pound round steak cut in strips
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 - small onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
How To Make beef with broccoli
-
Step 1Combine 2 tbsp. corn starch, 2 tbsp water, garlic powder, stir until smooth. Add beef and toss until coated. Stir fry the beef in 1 tbsp. oil. When done, remove from pan and keep warm.
-
Step 2In the same pan or wok, stir fry the broccoli and onion in 1 tbsp. oil for 4-5 minutes. Return the beef to the pan, mix.
-
Step 3Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 1 tbsp. cornstarch and 3 tbsp. water, stir until smooth. Add to pan, cook and stir 2 minutes.
-
Step 4Serve over rice.
-
Step 5I usually add a small can of drained water chestnuts, just because I like them. You could add what makes you happy - some julienned carrots, perhaps cauliflower florets as well.
