Ingredients

  • 1 pound round steak cut in strips
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 - small onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

How To Make beef with broccoli

  • Step 1
Combine 2 tbsp. corn starch, 2 tbsp water, garlic powder, stir until smooth. Add beef and toss until coated. Stir fry the beef in 1 tbsp. oil. When done, remove from pan and keep warm.
  • Step 2
In the same pan or wok, stir fry the broccoli and onion in 1 tbsp. oil for 4-5 minutes. Return the beef to the pan, mix.
  • Step 3
Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 1 tbsp. cornstarch and 3 tbsp. water, stir until smooth. Add to pan, cook and stir 2 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Serve over rice.
  • Step 5
I usually add a small can of drained water chestnuts, just because I like them. You could add what makes you happy - some julienned carrots, perhaps cauliflower florets as well.
