Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp
    peanut oil
  • 1 slice
    ginger root, 1/2" thick
  • 1 lb
    beef in thin strips
  • 4 oz
    bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 3 oz
    snow peas
  • 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 2 Tbsp
    oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp
    sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cornstarch mixed with 1/2 teaspoon water

How to Make Beef Kwangton

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat wok or frying pan and add peanut oil. Add ginger and stir to add flavor to oil. Discard ginger.
  2. Add beef and stir fry 2 minutes. Add bamboo shoots, mushrooms, snow peas and broth. Cover and cook 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Thicken with cornstarch mixture.
  4. Serve immediately over rice.
