This is one of my favorite Chinese dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons peanut oil
  • 1 slice ginger root, 1/2" thick
  • 1 pound beef in thin strips
  • 4 ounces bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 3 ounces snow peas
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1/2 teaspoon water

How To Make beef kwangton

  • Step 1
    Preheat wok or frying pan and add peanut oil. Add ginger and stir to add flavor to oil. Discard ginger.
  • Step 2
    Add beef and stir fry 2 minutes. Add bamboo shoots, mushrooms, snow peas and broth. Cover and cook 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Thicken with cornstarch mixture.
  • Step 4
    Serve immediately over rice.
