2 drops purple food coloring, OPTIONAL {the color of the jelly will be a golden/yellow otherwise. I add the coloring for aesthetic appeal.}

1/4 cup lemon juice
•
1/2 teaspoon butter {for less foaming}
•
4 cups sugar
•
One box powdered pectin
