Ingredients: Cake; 2 1/4 cups cake flour; 1 tablespoon baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 1/4 cups whole milk or buttermilk; 4 large egg whites; 1 1/2 cups sugar; 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest; 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temperature; 1/2 teaspoon pure lemon extract; Lemon Glaze; 1/4 cup sugar; 3 Tbs. fresh lemon juice; Black Tea Frosting; 2 large egg whites; 1 cup sugar; 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar; 1/3 cup strongly brewed black tea; 1/8 teaspoon salt; 1/4 cup strongly brewed black tea; Beat egg whites in a mixing bowl until foamy & thick, they should mound, but not peak.
