Cake:

2 1/2 cups boiling water

2 cups instant oats

1 cup butter or margarine

2 cups sugar

2 cups brown sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsps. soda
•
1 tsp salt
•
1 1/2 tsps. cinnamon
•
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Frosting: 1 cup melted butter or margarine
•
2 cups brown sugar
•
6 tablespoons half and half or can use evaporated milk
•
1 cup chopped or broken walnuts (can use pecans)
•
3 cups shredded or flaked coconut
