INGREDIENTS

Doughnut Glaze

5 TBSP melted butter
•
1 cup confectioners sugar
•
2-4 TBSP warm water
•
1 1/2 tsp good quality vanilla (makes all the difference)
•
Wisk all but the water together and then slowly add the water til it's your desired consistency.
•
1/2 TBSP of dry yeast
•
1/8 cup of warm water (warm enough to activate yeast, but not too hot to kill it)
•
3/4 cup of scalded and cooled milk
•
1/4 cup or less of sugar
•
2/3 tsp salt (don't skimp, you need it to help cut the sweetness)
•
1 room temperature egg
•
2 1/2 TBSP solid shortening
•
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
•
oil for frying
