Ingredients: 1/4 cup butter; 1/4 cup water; 1/2 cup sugar; 1/2 to 3/4 cup rum ( I used amber rum); 1/2 tsp vanilla extract; 2 1/4 cups flour; 1/4 cup corn starch; 3 tsp baking powder; 1/2 tsp salt; 1 1/4 cups sugar; 1/2 cup soft butter; 1/4 cup canola oil (or other vegetable oil); 1/2 cup evaporated milk (undiluted; straight from the can); 4 eggs; 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract; 1/3 cup rum ( I used amber rum)
