2 sticks (1/2 lb) unsalted butter at room temperature

2/3 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt
•
1 tsp vanilla paste (or extract)
•
2 cups all purpose flour
•
for the glaze
•
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
