5 egg yolks, reserve whites
5 egg white
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups cake flour sifted
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Rum Syrup
1/4 cup rum or 1 tablespoon rum flavoring
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
Italian Pastry Cream {Cake filling} {Pasticciera Cream}
3 tablespoons sugar
3 egg yolks
3 tablespoons flour (all purpose)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whole mile (for richness)
1 tablespoon butter
Whipped Cream Corn Syrup Method
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon pur vanilla extract
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
2 cups sliced almond or more to cover the entire cake (not shown in picture-chocolate bits can also be used)
