1/2 jalapeno, seeds and pith removed, minced

1 (1 inch) piece of ginger, minced

1 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder

4 cups water

1 (16 oz) package thin whole wheat spaghetti

1/3 cup tamari or low sodium soy sauce

1 head of cabbage, shredded
