INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup melted unsalted butter, divided
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup toasted pecans, chopped (may substitute walnuts)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup buttermilk (may substitute sour cream or yogurt)
1/2 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 soft, overripe medium bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
