"The Mighty Cone in Austin, Texas, is one of my favorite eateries on the entire planet. They do not call their food fried but rather “deep sautéed,” and chicken is not the only thing that gets the deep-fried love they call “Hot & Crunchy”—a thin, flavorful, crispy coating made of cornflakes, almonds, Chili de Arbol flakes, sea salt, and sesame. Whole wedges of creamy-cool avocado get coated in their signature mixture before being combined with a slather of their “ancho paint” and Asian slaw.
