Hot Cross Buns With Icing

INGREDIENTS
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup sugar
8 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 egg, well beaten
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup dried currants (or, raisins)
1/4 cup shredded citron
pinch of ground cloves
1 egg, well beaten
confectioners' sugar and milk
