1 teaspoon Japanese rice wine or dry sherry ((see notes))
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth
3 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons quality hoisin sauce ((Lee Kum Kee or Kikkoman))
2 teaspoons rice wine or dry sherry ((see notes))
1-2 teaspoons Asian chili sauce, (more or less to taste)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable or peanut oil, divided
1/2 large yellow onion chopped into 1/2”-inch pieces
3 cups broccoli florets
3 carrots, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper cut into 1” pieces
4-6 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
