INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 large onion, diced (about 1 1/2 cups)

1/4 cup minced garlic

3, 28 oz. cans of tomato (I like to use diced tomatoes or if you like a sweeter sauce I also use stewed)

1 tablespoon basil
•
1 tablespoon oregano
•
2 tablespoons sugar
•
1 teaspoon salt
•
1/2 teaspoon pepper
•
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional if you like a little heat- add after pureeing)
