INGREDIENTS

1 large yellow onion, peeled and cut into quarters

8 large garlic cloves, peeled
•
3 tbsp dried Italian seasoning
•
1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
•
1 tbsp granulated sugar
•
1 1/2 tsp salt
•
1 tsp ground black pepper
•
1/4 cup olive oil
•
Three 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes (I prefer to usefire roasted tomatoes.)

3/4 cup dry red wine
•
a couple dashes ofWorcestershire sauce
•
1/4 cup fresh minced parsley
•
1/2 cup fresh minced basil
•
1 1/2 cups of bread cubes cut or torn into 1/2 inch pieces
•
1 cup buttermilk
•
a couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
•
1 lb ground beef, 85% lean
•
14 oz ground Italian sausage, spicy or sweet
•
2 large egg yolks, lightly beaten with a fork
•
1 cup grated parmesan or pecorino Romano cheese
•
3/4 cup minced fresh parsley
•
4 tsp minced garlic (about 4 large cloves)
•
2 tsp salt
•
1 tsp ground black pepper
•
1 tbsp dried Italian herb seasoning
•
1 tsp onion powder
•
1 tsp granulated sugar
•
One package spaghetti
•
NOTE: This recipe will give you approximately 9 cups of marinara sauce and about 42 meatballs. You can, of course, cut the recipe in half. You can also double it for a crowd.
