Hippolyte Cake
"Hippolyte Cake and Mississippi Mud Cake are close cousins...."
INGREDIENTS

1 cup boiling water
•
4 ounces (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate
•
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
•
2 cups sugar
•
3 eggs
•
1/2 cup buttermilk
•
2 cups all-purpose flour
•
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
•
1/4 teaspoon salt
•
1 teaspoon vanilla
•
2 jars (7 ounces each) marshmallow creme or 1 large jar (16 ounces) marshmallow fluff
•
Chocolate icing
•
1/2 cup milk
•
1 stick (1/2 cup butter)
•
2 ounces (2 squares) unsweetened chocolate
•
2 cups sugar
•
1/4 teaspoon salt
•
1 teaspoon vanilla
