INGREDIENTS
1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
1/4 cup molasses
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1/2 teaspoon Vietnamese cinnamon)
1 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
2 large eggs
5 cups King Arthur Unbleached Cake Flour Blend
1/3 cup water
2 cups raisins
