- 1 med. head red cabbage, sliced very thinly
- 2/3 C. boiling water
- 3 Tbs. butter
- 1/4 C. red wine vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/6 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. light brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Step 1Place all ingredients in a large pot and toss to mix. Cover and simmer, stirring once or twice, for 15-20 minutes until cabbage is crisp tender. Serve hot in soup bowls with plenty of the cooking liquid.
