Ingredients

1 med. head red cabbage, sliced very thinly
2/3 C. boiling water
3 Tbs. butter
1/4 C. red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
1/8 tsp. salt
1/6 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. light brown sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Step-By-Step

1Place all ingredients in a large pot and toss to mix. Cover and simmer, stirring once or twice, for 15-20 minutes until cabbage is crisp tender. Serve hot in soup bowls with plenty of the cooking liquid.
