1 L garlic clove, minced

1 small onion, minced (about 1/2 C)

1-1/2 C water
•
1/2 C cream, or half&half
•
1/2 t salt & 1/4 t pepper
•
1/2 t hot sauce
•
1/2 C quick grits
•
1 C sharp cheddar cheese, grated (1 C)
•
1 scallion, thinly sliced for garnish
