Goetta Breakfast Casserole

"If you don't know what Goetta is, it's a Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky thing. It's essentially sausage with grains in it, but you can substitute regular breakfast sausage. Go with a crumbly one, like a log of jimmy dean (vs. links or patties). I cooked mine in a round spring form pan (like used for cheesecakes). It made it easier to cut and serve. Also I paired the recipe down a little in what's shown in the pics. So if following the portions below, expect that yours would be thicker. If you don't have a picky..."

INGREDIENTS
1 lb goetta (or other breakfast sausage)
approx 3 cups frozen shredded hash browns
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 eggs
1 and 1/2 cup milk
