Ingredients
- 1/4 lb Butter (or margarine) softened to room temperature
- 1 Clove garlic (peeled and crushed)
- 1 Loaf French bread (about 18” long)
How To Make garlic french bread

Step 1Blend garlic with butter and let stand at room temperature about 1 hour. About 1/2 hour before serving, preheat oven to 375 F. Meanwhile, slice bread 1” thick, cutting to but not through the bottom, and holding knife at a slight angle. Spread both sides of each slice with garlic butter and wrap loaf snugly in heavy foil.Place on a baking sheet and warm 20 to 25 minutes. Unwrap and serve in a long napkin lined bread basket or break into chunks and serve in a round napkin lined basket.
