•1/4 cup (four level tablespoons) Crisco or lard or 1/2 stick (4 Tbsp.) butter

•3/4 cup buttermilk (must use buttermilk, regular milk won't work)

Gravy •2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or sausage drippings

•2 Tbsp. flour (either all-purpose of self-rising)

•1/4 tsp. salt

•1/4 tsp. pepper

•1 1/4 cup of milk, half-and-half, or evaporated milk
