Ingredients: 1 (30-ounce) can pumpkin PIE mix (NOT pumpkin puree!*); 3 large eggs; 1 cup heavy cream OR evaporated milk; 2/3 cup granulated sugar; 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt; 1 and 1/2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice; 1 (15.25 ounce) yellow cake mix (DRY); 1/2 cup all purpose flour; 1/4 cup sugar; 1 cup chopped pecans, to mix into flour mixture (optional); 1/2 cup chopped pecans, for the top (optional); 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted; vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving; salted caramel sauce, for serving
