3-4 large ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced ((equals approximately 2 cups of thinly sliced peaches)

¼ cup white granulated sugar ((see notes below))

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup chopped pecans ((optional, divided use))
•
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
•
1 ½ packages cream cheese, softened to room temperature ((12 ounces))
