I found this recipe in the 80's and everyone seems to enjoy them. I believe this is my favorite cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make snickerdoodles

  • Step 1
    Mix butter and eggs together in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add the eggs, soda, cream of tartar and salt, beat. Add the flour and mix slowly until it is all mixed in.
  • Step 2
    Put the 1 cup of sugar and cinnamon in a flat pan or container( that way you can put several cookies at a time in the container) and mix together. Using a cookie scoop or a teaspoon, drop each piece of cookie dough into the cinnamon mixture and roll around until coated. Put the cookie on a parchment lined cookie sheet(about 2" apart) and bake at 400 for about 10-12 minutes.
