Ingredients
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening(crisco)
- 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
How To Make the best biscuits ever

Step 1Put all the dry ingredients in a good mixer and mix slowly with a whip attachment,

Step 2Add shortening and butter and mix until the mixture looks like small peas. At this point, you can cover and refrigerate until morning if you want or continue.

Step 3Add buttermilk and mix with a dough hook until all the dry ingredients are mixed together. DO NOT OVER MIX

Step 4Turn out onto floured board or counter. Pat into a circle until it is about 1 1/2" thick. Cut with a cutter of choice. Do not turn the cutter. It will break down the dough!

Step 5In a preheated oven, bake at 400 for about 18 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
