Ingredients: 6 Tbsp butter, (unsalted, softened); ½ c brown sugar; 1 ¾ c unbleached all purpose flour; ½ tsp baking soda; 2 tsp cinnamon; ½ tsp salt; ½ tsp nutmeg; ½ tsp ground cloves; ¼ tsp ground ginger; ¼ tsp ground white pepper; ¼ c milk; ¼ c sliced almonds, (optional (to decorate))
