sweet potato pie smoothie

I was challenged to make a smoothie using canned yams, so I created this tasty smoothie. The yams add a wonderful texture and creaminess and the spices create the Fall flavor of just baked sweet potato pie! This smoothie is, truly, just like drinking a piece of sweet potato pie!! If you want a smoothie with fewer calories, omit the yam syrup and pear syrup and use equivalent amount of coconut milk instead.

Ingredients For sweet potato pie smoothie

  • 1
    16 ounce can candied yams, chilled, drained (syrup reserved)
  • 4
    canned pear halves, chilled, drained (syrup reserved)
  • 1
    5.3 ounce container vanilla flavor greek yogurt
  • 1/4 c
    reserved yam syrup
  • 1/4 c
    reserved pear syrup
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
  • 3
    ice cubes
  • ground nutmeg (garnish)

How To Make sweet potato pie smoothie

    Place all ingredients in blender.

    Blend until smooth.

    Garnish with a sprinkling of nutmeg, if desired.
