I love this smoothie! I was trying to find a way to use some of the wheat germ I purchased to make homemade granola and thought of this. It is thick and sweet with a little tang from the orange. Very refreshing and a great kick start to your morning.

  • 3/4 cup yogurt, low-fat, plain
  • 10 - frozen strawberries
  • 1 medium banana in chunks
  • 2 tablespoons oj, freshly squeezed (about 1/2 orange)
  • 2 tablespoons wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup prepared quick oats
  • 2 - packets splenda brown sugar
  • 6 - ice cubes for glass (optional)
  • 1 dash cinnamon

How To Make strawberry sunrise oatmeal smoothie

  • Step 1
Put yogurt and berries into blender and pulse to break up frozen berries. Add OJ, banana, oatmeal, wheat germ and splenda packets and pulse till desired consistency. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top and serve.
  • Step 2
This will be a little thick. Serve over ice to keep cold and to thin out smoothie as it melts. If you wish to thin it out more, you can add a splash of milk or water or use fresh strawberries.
