A popular item on the menu of a food hut in a small town in Texas is the Milagro Smoothie which consists of apple juice, mixed berries, banana and yogurt. Milagro is the Spanish word for "miracle" which is a term often used to wish someone good luck, good health and hope in the future. So this delicious berry-packed "miracle" smoothie has plenty of healthy ingredients to get a healthy start to your day. You can use whatever combination of berries that you like. I used a mix of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, and it was tasty. The addition of the banana really makes it delicious.

NOTE: If you're following a health plan that recommends adding flax seeds or chia seeds to fruit smoothies, add 1 to 2 tsp of the seeds in Step #1. Chia and flax seeds tend to be absorbent, so they help to thicken the smoothie and make it creamier. But it's best to drink the Smoothie within 10 minutes of adding the seeds though, because the Smoothie will continue to thicken as it sits.
