In this Indian version of sharbat, fresh fruit is tossed with sugar, frozen, and then served as either a slushy beverage or as an ice after a curry-laced meal. You're not limited to mango; any combination of fresh fruit and melon can be used.

How to Make Mango Sharbat

  1. Toss the mango cubes with the sugar and lime juice in a plastic bag. Seal and freeze the sugarcoated mango cubes for at least 4 hours.
  2. Combine the frozen mango cubes with the orange juice in a food processor or blender and puree for desired consistency: 1 to 2 minutes for coarse texture; 3 to 4 minutes for a smoother texture.
  3. Serve in wine glasses, garnished with fresh mint.
