My mother has been making this hot punch since forever. We make it in an electric percolator but I think it can be just as easily made on the stove. This is what we all drink at family gatherings come fall all through the winter and is practically a tradition in our family.

Ingredients

2 1/2 c
un-sweetened pineapple juice
2 1/2 c
cranberry juice
1 1/2 c
water, cold
2 stick
cinnamon (crushed or broken up)
4
cloves
1/3 c
brown sugar
1/8 tsp
salt

How to Make Mom's Hot Punch

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combined juices and water in a pot or in a percolator.
  • 2If using a percolator place crushed cinnamon sticks, cloves, brown sugar, and salt in the basket. Seal up and let the percolator go.
  • 3If using stove top go ahead and add brown sugar and salt to liquid and in a mesh tea ball put in cloves and cinnamon sticks. This makes it easy to fish out later. Bring everything to a boil for 5-10 min then serve.
