Creamy Cider Punch

This is a wonderful and OH SO SIMPLE Fall Punch! With only 3 ingredients ... it's hard to call it a "recipe". But I thought I'd post it anyway as it is great to serve for gatherings during the autumn months.

1/2 gal
vanilla ice cream
1 gal
jug of fresh apple cider
freshly grated nutmeg
(i suppose you can use pre-grated, but the fresh kind makes such a difference)


1Place entire block of ice-cream (as is) in bottom of punch bowl.
2Pour cider over ice-cream filling punch bowl ... and generously dust top with freshly grated nutmeg.
3No need to stir or anything. Ice-cream melts and blends with cider to make a delicious creamy, frothy beverage, like "apple pie ala'mode" in a glass.
4Continue to fill with remaining cider as needed until ice-cream is gone.
