I made this Lemonade Flavored Iced Tea for many years. You can use either granulated sugar to sweeten it, or use packets of Saccharin Sweetener to sweeten it up. I also add a packet of Lemonade Flavored Kool-Aid, to give it that lemon flavor. Surprisingly, it tastes very good!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups water, divided
  • 10 - regular size tea bags, (see *note)
  • 1 cup sugar (or 24 packets of saccharin sweetener)
  • 1 - (0.23 oz.) packet unsweetened lemonade flavored kool-aid

How To Make lemonade flavored iced tea

  • Step 1
Place 10 tea bags in a 2-quart size pitcher.
  • Step 2
In a medium size saucepan, bring 4 cups of water, all most to a boil. Remove pan from heat, as soon as you see bubbles start to come to the surface.
  • Step 3
Pour the hot water over the tea bags in a pitcher.
  • Step 4
Cover, and let the tea steep for 1 hour on your kitchen counter.
  • Step 5
Remove tea bags from pitcher, and carefully squeeze the tea bags to remove excess liquid into the pitcher.
  • Step 6
Stir in the granulated sugar or Saccharin Sweetener. Then add the remaining 4 cups of water, and the packet of Lemonade Flavored Kool-Aid, and stir.
  • Step 7
Refrigerate the Lemonade Flavored Tea until it is chilled.
  • Step 8
Serve lemonade/tea over ice cubes in a glass.
  • Step 9
Yields: 2-quarts of lemonade flavored tea
  • Step 10
Note: For this recipe, I used Lipton's Decaffeinated Black Tea Bags.
