I first encountered this delightful drink when I visited New Orleans for the first time in 1980. A year or so later it was served at a champagne brunch at the grand opening of the radio/tv station where my husband worked. This refreshing drink can be habit forming! Photo by lazyme

Ingredients For classic mimosa

  • 8 oz
    orange juice
  • 1 bottle
    dry champagne (good brand)
  • 2 oz
    triple sec or grand marnier
  • 4
    orange slices

How To Make classic mimosa

  • 1
    Chill 4 champagne glasses in the freezer until frosty.
  • 2
    Pour 2 ounces of orange juice into each glass. Fill almost full with champagne and then top off each glass with a splash of Triple Sec.

    Garnish with orange slices and serve while cold.
