OfftheGridNews.com Warning: those individuals with thyroid problems or who are pregnant should not consume bee balm. The taste is unusual (yes, I liked it!) and you will definitely need to sweeten the tea to find that happy median. A simple syrup would work out well for this tea.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh bee balm leaves and flowers
  • 1 quart boiling water
  • - honey, etc., to sweeten

How To Make bee balm iced tea

  • Step 1
    Place fresh bee balm leaves and flowers in a teapot or glass bowl.
  • Step 2
    Pour boiling water over the leaves and flowers.
  • Step 3
    Cover and steep until cool – about 1 hour. Strain and discard leaves and flowers. Chill and serve over ice cubes. Sweeten as desired.
