This is a really creamy and thick hot chocolate. Being that it's the fall time now and it time warm the body on those chilly days. I thought I would share this recipes. My kids cant get enough of it.

Ingredients

12 oz
square of semisweet chocolate bar
6 tsp
cornstarch
3 c
half and half
1/2 c
heavy cream, whipped
1/2 tsp
instant coffee powder (optional)
1 c
sugar
1/4 c
water

How to Make NOT YOUR MAMA'S HOT CHOCOLATE

Step-by-Step

  • 1dissolve the cornstarch in water
  • 2heat 1 cup of half and half and heavy cream in a large saucepan
  • 3Break chocolate into small pieces and add to half and half mixture. stirring constantly with a whisk.
  • 4add instant coffee to mixture (optional)
  • 5after cornstarch have dissolved in water add it to the rest of your half and half. you should have 2cups leftover.
  • 6slowly add sugar to chocolate mixture (whisking)
  • 7then add the rest of your half and half/cornstarch mixture to chocolate (whisk)
  • 8It will take about 8-10 minutes for chocolate mixture to thicken up. constant whisking
