This is a really creamy and thick hot chocolate. Being that it's the fall time now and it time warm the body on those chilly days. I thought I would share this recipes. My kids cant get enough of it.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz
    square of semisweet chocolate bar
  • 6 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 3 c
    half and half
  • 1/2 c
    heavy cream, whipped
  • 1/2 tsp
    instant coffee powder (optional)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    water

How to Make NOT YOUR MAMA'S HOT CHOCOLATE

Step-by-Step

  1. dissolve the cornstarch in water
  2. heat 1 cup of half and half and heavy cream in a large saucepan
  3. Break chocolate into small pieces and add to half and half mixture. stirring constantly with a whisk.
  4. add instant coffee to mixture (optional)
  5. after cornstarch have dissolved in water add it to the rest of your half and half. you should have 2cups leftover.
  6. slowly add sugar to chocolate mixture (whisking)
  7. then add the rest of your half and half/cornstarch mixture to chocolate (whisk)
  8. It will take about 8-10 minutes for chocolate mixture to thicken up. constant whisking
