holiday cranberry slush

I grew up on a cattle ranch, 40 miles from the nearest grocery store. We made do alot, but the Schwan's delivery man did stop by once a month to make sure Dad's ice cream supply didn't run out. In the early '90's Mom bought a case of frozen lemonade from him and this recipe was on the box. It's been a family tradition ever since.

Ingredients

  • 3- 8oz. cans jellied cranberries
  • 8 ounces frozen cranberry-apple drink concentrate
  • 16 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 liters lemon-lime carbonated soda
  • - rum or vodka (optional)

How To Make holiday cranberry slush

  • Step 1
    Place jellied cranberries in mixer bowl, beat til smooth. Add concentrates and spices.
  • Step 2
    Mix on low speed until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Pour into one gallon bucket with lid. Add water and mix.
  • Step 4
    Cover and freeze 2 hours. Mix again. Freeze 8 hours or overnight.
  • Step 5
    To serve: put a big scoop into a glass and fill with lemon-lime soda. Mix and enjoy!
