Today is Juneteenth 2020. In honor of the occasion, here's my take on Carla Hall's watermelon and strawberry slushy.

Ingredients
- 8 cups cubed seedless watermelon, frozen
- 2 cups quartered strawberries, frozen
- 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
- juice of 1 lime and zest
- 2-4 tablespoons simple syrup
- 4 sprigs fresh mint, optional
How To Make carla's juneteenth slushie

Step 1Pulse fruit until it breaks up, then blend til slushy consistency.

Step 2Add water, lime juice and zest. Taste to see how much simple syrup to add. Add more water if too thick. Pulse a few times to mix completely.

Step 3Serve in tall glasses with mint sprig for garnish, if desired.
